Wrap vinyl is designed to create a bond to a smooth painted surface. Surfaces that are peeling or flaking will not allow for the application procedure that Knightworks Design uses. Repainted vehicles will often accept wrap but peel the clear coat off when the wrap is removed. Textured trim plastic is not painted and will not accept standard wrap. We can use a high tack material here, but it is considered permanent and doesn't offer the same clean release properties. Chrome and stainless steel are low tack areas but we can often cover them.
Yes, a basic layout will be provided using supplied logo's and any text requested. See Design FAQ's for acceptable file formats. All layouts remain the property of Knightworks Design and may not be used for any other advertising without written permission. A Vehicle Wrap layout starts at $299 and will include revisions. Customer supplied wrap artwork will be provided a layout prior to starting.
The turnaround time for vehicle wrapping at Knightworks Design depends on the size and complexity of the job. Most vehicle lettering projects are done same day with some being done while you wait. We can give you a rough time that we need and you might want to schedule a ride. Larger trucks or trailers are usually 24 hours minimum and we would like the vehicle the night before. Full color change wraps take 4 to 5 days so be prepared to have an allterate vehicle.
We recommend no power washes for 2 weeks while the vinyl forms a bond with the paint. Light hand washing is allowed after 48 hours avoiding new graphics. Avoid using solvents on any vinyl as it could effect the finish or adhesive. The vinyls that Knightworks Design uses are designed to withstand automatic carwashes once they are cured, however excessive visits may dull the surface. Applying automotive wax or ceramic coating to a wrap is recommended to maintain a shine and make cleaning contaminants off easier. Avoid applying any coatings to matte vinyl as it will effect the finish.
